Why Poetry Matters

After a bunch of local kids trashed Robert Frost’s home at Bread Loaf (they threw a New Year’s party there) the kids were sentenced to take a course on why poetry matters. Here’s hoping that knowledge of a subject equals and appreciation of it, and that that appreciation leads to a desire to preserve it.

On another note, I am going to miss Bread Loaf a lot this year.

Now this is definitely justice being served. Thanks for posting this story. These fellas’ education may be a little late in coming, but the precedent it sets is fantastic!
